Summer School Venues

Directions & Transportation:

From Vienna International Airport to Guest House:
Take the train going to Vienna (the conventional one, "S-Bahn", is much cheaper and goes directly to the station Wien Nord/Praterstern; there is also the green CAT available, which is a couple of minutes faster but more expensive and not going directly to Wien Nord). Step out at Wien Nord/Praterstern, change to subway U2 (purple line), direction Stadion, get off at "Messe Prater" (one stop). You will find yourself in Ausstellungsstraße. Molkereistraße is perpendicular, about 50 meters back. For details see the map at Guest House of the Vienna Universities  Molkereistraße 1, 1020 Wien.

For people arriving by train at Südbahnhof Station:
Take the S-Bahn (Direction Floridsdorf) get off at Wien Nord-Praterstern and proceed as above.

For people arriving by train at Westbahnhof Station:
Take the Subway U3 (orange line) heading for Simmering, change at Volkstheater to subway U2 (purple line) direction Stadion, get off at Messe Prater, proceed as above.

Getting your room:

For persons arriving there on July 4th or 5th (Saturday or Sunday) during the day: a NICLAS welcome desk will be at your disposition at the guest house. If arriving late, you will have to ask for the concierge who will give you the keys and show you your rooms. Should any problems arise, please contact Alexia Poriki (+43 650 612 02 55).

For students arriving on Monday, July 7th or later: Please come directly to the university.

From the Guest House to the Law Faculty of the University of Vienna:

Take subway U2 (purple line) direction Karlsplatz, get off at Schottentor Universität (four stops), take any exit. See maps above for the 2 minutes walking to the law faculty building on the opposite side of the Ringstraße (Universität Wien, Rechtswissenschaftliche Fakultät - "Juridicum", Schottenbastei 10-16, 1010 Wien). The summer university takes place in the Reading Hall 11 (Lesesaal 11), at the 1st floor.

Direct way from the Airport to the University:

Take the train going to Vienna (the conventional one, "S-Bahn", is much cheaper (€ 3,40 including transportation in Vienna) and goes directly to station Wien Nord/Praterstern; there is also the green CAT available, which is a couple of minutes faster but more expensive) step out at Wien Mitte, change to metro line U4, direction Heiligenstadt, go 2 stations to Schottenring, change to metro line U2, direction Karlsplatz, go 1 station to Schottentor. See maps above for the 2 minutes walking to the law faculty building (Universität Wien, Rechtswissenschaftliche Fakultät - "Juridicum", Schottenbastei 10-16, 1010 Wien). The summer university takes place in the Reading Hall 11 (Lesesaal 11), at the 1st floor. 

Tickets

We recommend you to buy a weekly ticket, allowing for unlimited transportation with all means of public transportation (train, metro, tram, bus) in Vienna for a full week (€ 14). Tickets are available at ticket boxes of the Wiener Linien or at vending machines, available in any metro station (see  www.wienerlinien.at)
